"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16 (NIV) The bible says in substance that only perfect people go to heaven which means none of us are going to go to heaven because all of us have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. But God loved us so much that he made a way out of no way by sending his beloved perfect Son Jesus Christ to take all our sins upon himself and die for us. And Jesus defeated death and rose again in bodily form on the third day. He is now seated at the right hand of God interceding for us. All we have to do is 1. Confess our sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus did on the cross as a penalty for our sins 2. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and that God raised him from the dead 3. Invite Jesus into our hearts leading to having a personal relationship with him and look upto him as a Father, mother, brother, sister and a close friend We will be saved. We have a place in the kingdom of God. It doesn't mean that we will never sin or if we do sin we will lose our salvation. We are still sinners saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. There is nothing that we can do to earn a place in God's kingdom. We still require God's mercy and grace to lead us to our eternal home in heaven. It doesn't mean that we can go on sinning either. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we no longer live a life for our own pleasures but for God. We make a daily commitment to live for Him and follow him. The bottom line question is, "Is your heart right?". Are you on the right road to God or are you on the road that leads to destruction? He stands at the door of your heart and knocks. If you open the door, he will come in and live with you. He will teach you and instruct you in the way you should go. He will counsel you and watch over your life. It doesn't mean that our life is gona be a bed of roses. Jesus said that in this world we will have trouble but we can overcome it with the help of Jesus Christ. We should seek the Lord with all our heart and trust the Lord's leading in our lives. The good news is that troubles don't last too long. Morning will come! It will bring us Joy. Just as the Lord was taken upto heaven he will come back the same way o ne day and take us home.
